EGYPTIAN NIGHTS draws the reader into the story from the very dark reality
of domestic abuse in the beginning to the mysterious romanticism of life on
the Nile river. Victoria’s emotional turmoil and fear of her husband’s abuse
follow her into her new life. Khaemhat’s love and understanding help to
banish Neil’s ugly accusations from her mind and allow her to become a whole
woman again. Jennifer Mueller’s writing easily allows readers to take a step
back in time and imagine reliving life as a different person in another
time. EGYPTIAN NIGHTS is a book I’d highly recommend. It’s a heart-touching
story I’d read many times over.

For those who wish a trip to ancient
Egypt, then crack the cover of Egyptian Nights by Jennifer Mueller. The
story is a pretty one, of the love of two people that crosses time to find
fulfillment. From the night her husband beats her in a drunken rage,
Victoria's spirit seeks escape. On hearing the death chant, the ancient
words to help guide a spirit across the waters to the underworld, Victoria
is drawn into a life far different from any she has ever known. The man she
finds there is not what she expected either, nor did she expect love. As for
the man, Khaemhat is not sure of what brought the stranger to inhabit the
body of his wife, but he finds her to be a caring and beautiful person who
holds more allure for him than the spirit of Mayati ever could. He is struck
my her manner, her desire to please, and her confidence as it builds as she
adjusts. The time and customs are strange in this place into which she has
been thrust.
Ms Mueller blends the vibrant past into a story of passion and love that is
able to truly transcend time and place, and bring lovers together from two
disparate cultures and times. Artfully written, and skillfully crafted,
Egyptian Nights is a story you will want on your keeper shelf. It is one of
the must read books from Linden Bay Romances, so wander on over there, and
pick up a copy of Egyptian Nights today. I don't think you will be sorry,
and I know you will be wanting more.

Egyptian Nights is a book worthy of a look as it tempts and
teases you into reading page after page. Riveting and entertaining, the
characters come alive right before your very eyes, making this one book I
had a hard time saying goodbye to. This is such a good book that I will be
picking it up to read again and again. Since the steamy scenes are played
out in your mind and not in the book, it captures your mind, imagination and
emotions.

The reader will feel as if she herself has taken a trip to
ancient Egypt as Ms. Mueller gives just enough information about the time
period without overwhelming the reader with facts. This is a winner in this
reviewer’s books. Captivating and romantic, Egyptian Nights is a very fine
read which this reader can highly recommend to all time travel fans.

This time-traveling tale of love and trust
is enticing and bewitching. Ms. Mueller has a great talent for drawing the
reader in with slow and sensual prose, without being overtly sexual. Her
talent for description transports the reader to another time and place with
such ease and finesse that it is almost magical. EGYPTIAN NIGHTS is a
refreshing tale, written by a woman who is committed to her craft and whose
work I would definitely like to read more of.

A sad commentary is that Victoria’s life
is true for many women today. It was heart warming to see one woman escape
in the pages of Egyptian Nights. As Mayati, Victoria bloomed under
Khaemhat’s gentle and loving care. Dreams were used as an excellent backdrop
for Victoria to settle into her new life. Egyptian Nights is a beautiful,
warm and romantic story. You will not want to miss this one. Great job for
Jennifer Mueller.

Egyptian Nights is an engrossing time travel short story that touches the
subject of physical abuse. Despite the short length of the story, I found it
to be quite a satisfying read, with good pacing and very appealing
characters. Although the hero, Khaemhat, is not as fully fleshed out as the
heroine is, I did not feel cheated, as I think that the author made the
right choice in giving more weight to the heroine’s ploy and her dealing
with her emotional scars as she gets used to her new circumstances. Victoria
truly is a beautifully drawn character. The reader does get to understand
her perfectly. As to Khaemhat, he is a gentle and beautiful man, who finds
himself falling in love with the woman whose spirit now occupies the body of
the one that he had known as his wife. In the erotic department, this story
has more of a sensuous than an erotic feel to it. Of course, it does not
detract at all from the plot. This is a story that I definitely recommend to
lovers of time travel romance.

Egyptian Nights is a highly evocative
short story. It is a tender and very sweet tale featuring two likable leads.
They share an intense chemistry, which the author builds on, and will sweep
the reader back into ancient Egypt.

An intriguing story that is very well written that will take you through a
young woman’s mind who only wants one thing – happiness instead of being
someone’s punching bag. The clincher that touched me was when Victoria
examined the rewarding smile on Khaemhat’s face and knew she would be at
peace if she could only stay there. Ms. Mueller has written a story that
will not only charm the soul but also warm the heart.

Trying to settle into this new life,
Victoria tries not to bring the ghosts of her former existence into this new
life, but wants to remember the past as Mayati remembers it, with the tender
and sweet memories of life and love in Egypt and marriage to Khaemhat. To
help with this assimilation, Khaemhat gives her the responsibility of
running the household. Victoria finds salvation and redemption with the
servants and members of the household.
This book brought together a number of aspects I find personally enjoyable
about reading. Time travel with all of its adjustments and ramifications are
always an interesting angle added to the brief but informative history
lesson and the complexities of finding love in another time. These are
separate parts that come together in a wholly fascinating and gratifying
read. This is a large and complex story in a very compact 43 pages. In those
pages you will find tragedy, trauma, redemption, resurrection and love
between two people.
