Tallgrass Writers' Workshop
A great little weekend workshop. It caters toward the western writer, but they get writers from various genres so even if you don't write westerns you'll get something out of it.

Peace Corps
I served in Kenya 97-99 and met my husband there.  Yes I'm a Peace Corps bride.  Our daughter has already been warned she'll have a home to come back to until she's out of college and after that she's on her own, we'll be out doing it again.

Lifewater International
I haven't worked with them, but they have a resource that Peace Corps swears by.  If you want to know anything about construction and sanitation in the developing world this is it.

Not sure what this one falls under, but its a site that is working on covering all the music of Kenya.  Included is lots of history of the tribes, customs, folklore.  Plus the guy works on the Rough Guides in Africa.
