The Wolf Within

The Wolf Within is a wonderful story by a master storyteller. Matthew is a soldier disheartened with life itself who seeks to find peace. Gabrielle has been through a difficult time and is estranged from many in her family. She and Matthew fight hard to overcome obstacles that will give them the peace that they desire in their life after being saddled with many problems. It draws the reader into a tale that spins in time that leaves a lasting impression. The characters are believable, strong, and determined in all their actions. Ms. Mueller’s creativity spins with excitement, on the edge of your seat entertainment and brilliant, vibrant characters that give the story credibility. Her tight writing is distinctive in this tender tale surrounding loss, vengeance, devastation and love. The Wolf Within is a strong story that shows how people can survive and find that true love. I find it a highly recommended read.

This is a wonderful book and will not disappoint. The Wolf Within is a definite thrill. The hero is a soldier, disillusioned with life, and wanted to find the peace denied him by his family's demands. The heroine, a beautiful but alienated woman, who has been made a warrior by her own acts, who had had a life of brutality foisted upon her. In bringing these two together, Jennifer has woven a poignant story of loss, hatred, and revenge for lost innocence. The particulars of the story can be horrifying, the story brutally raw in its intensity, but over all, Matthew and Gabrielle fight to survive, and with each other find the hopes for a future.

Surrounded on all sides by enemies, the woman the whites know only as a brave called Stalking Wolf must fight just to live. When she finds a man living in her valley, she is puzzled, watching him carefully, but staying in the shadows. Matthew is intrigued by the valley, and thankful that his friend Black Bear brought him here. A no-man's land between two tribes, the sheltered valley is a place of peace, a place for him to put down roots. When he finds Gabrielle wounded and bleeding, her wolf by her side, Matthew has no idea just how much his life will change, and just how much his friend Black Bear had meddled in his solitude. Set in the mid to late 1800's, The Wolf Within is a story you will not soon forget, nor is it one you will only read once. The strength of the characters draws you to them again and again, the life of the story vibrant, alive, and full of anticipation. It will keep you on your toes, and will have you yearning for more when it ends.

Ms Mueller writes strong characters that pull you into their story. Compelling and gripping, she writes unpretentious prose and deeply emotional characters that just reach into the reader’s heart and soul. This is a story that will not be easily forgotten. The horrors that were done to Gabrielle are described within the dialogue which is delivered in a way that although horrendous, will not make the reader cringe but will inspire admiration for a very strong and brave woman. This is an intense story that will grip the reader and hold her fast. Definitely one to be savoured more than once, the story is so rich the reader will come back to read it again and again. Matthew is a wonderful hero, strong and patient. This reviewer knows that the reader will also fall in love with him. A wonderful read!

The whole great review!

In the descriptions, one could visualize the mountains and the solitude. It described the cold and snow so well that I felt chilled. The book showed the attitudes of white people and their prejudice of Indians. It also showed how the Cavalry relied on Indian trackers but they never really investigated to see if they were trustworthy or truthful. This book had a lot of action in it. But, the best part is the trust that She With The Eyes Of The Wolf gave Matthew and how love grew out of that trust. Because of that trust, they would have protected each other no matter what the cost to themselves. So, get in your easy chair and get comfortable and enjoy a good read.
